Fishing on Lake Clywedog Llyn Clywedog provides excellent fishing along its 12 miles of bank and is stocked with Rainbow and Brown Trout. Brown Trout Season runs from 18 March - 7 October and the Rainbow Trout Season from 18 March to 30 November.
Fishing Permits for Lake Clywedog are available from Woosnam and Davies News in longbridge Street, Llanidloes. 01686 412263t and the fishing tackle shop in Newtown. Ther are also boats for hire.

Elan Valley Complex Brown trout fishing is available on 4 of the reservoirs and the Rivers Wye, Marteg and Elan. The Welsh Open Bank Fishing Competition has been held here for many years, usually in July. The 70 acre estate has cycle trails, walks, bridle ways and a café. 01597 810898
