Llanidloes

Llanidloes was an important weaving centre in 1839 and therfore a hotbed for Chartists. Many were transported to Australia.
Llanidloes Market Hall built in 1609 is the only one remaining in Wales. At the moment it hosts an exhibition of timber framed buildings.

Llyn Clywedog

Llyn Clywedog was built on the river Clywedog, a tributary of the River Severn to regulate its flow in 1968/9. The surface area is 615 acres (230 football pitches), maximum depth is 216 ft and the overall length is 6 miles with 12 miles of bank fishing. It is also very beautiful!

Elan Valley Lakes

The Elan Valley Lakes provide water for Birmingham. It flows there purely by gravity! It is a haven for wildlife and the facilities suit all abilities. It is great in the summer but wonderfully dramatic in the winter.

Riding Mid Wales

You can ride on the beach at Borth all year round. The views from the top of the welsh hills are stunning. Stabling is provided at Plas-y-Bwlch.

Walking the welsh hills can be breath taking but so are the views. As you can see by the last picture - it can be quite tiring!
